Compiled From ScaffIQ · Ignition Perspective 8.3 Only

A ready-made symbol library
for Ignition.

Perspective Engine builds a complete library of reusable Perspective symbols for your motors, pumps, valves, sensors and instruments, and places every confirmed device on a ready-to-use overview page, already labelled for your project. Open Designer to symbols and layout already in place. Structure and layout only, live tag connections are yours to make.

The problem

Every project builds its symbol library from scratch.

A confirmed device list already exists by the time Ignition Designer opens. Building the symbol library and the overview page to match it is still a manual, from-scratch exercise, project after project.

Symbols get rebuilt, not reused
Motor, pump, valve and instrument symbols get redrawn, or copied and half-updated, from the last project's library. Naming and behaviour drift a little more each time.
The overview page is an afterthought
Laying out every device onto a single overview page, correctly labelled and grouped, is real design work that usually happens last, under the least time pressure to get it right.
The device list and the screen disagree
A device added late to the I/O list doesn't automatically appear in Designer. Someone has to remember to add the symbol by hand, or it's just missing.
How it works

Built from the same confirmed devices, automatically.

Perspective Engine is a separate, optional step after your ScaffIQ checkpoints. Decline it and your compiled scaffold generates exactly as it always has.

Devices, already confirmed
Every device confirmed at your ScaffIQ checkpoints, its tag, type and area, is already there. Nothing is re-entered for Perspective Engine specifically.
Symbol assignment, reviewed before generating
Each device is matched to a symbol template automatically, motor, pump, valve or instrument, based on its confirmed type. Review and correct any mismatch before anything generates.
One overview page, grouped and labelled
Every confirmed device is placed on a single Overview page, grouped into labelled sections by symbol type: Motors, Pumps, Valves, Instruments, ready to open in Designer.
Yours to wire up
Structure and layout only. Live tag bindings, alarms and any device-specific logic in Ignition are the engineer's own work, on top of a symbol library and page that already exist.
What Perspective Engine doesn't do
It doesn't bind live tags
Symbols and layout are generated. Wiring a symbol to a live OPC or Ignition tag is a decision the engineer makes in Designer, not something the compiler guesses.
It's not earlier-version Perspective
Built specifically for Ignition Perspective 8.3. It's not tested or supported against earlier Perspective versions, or against Vision.
It doesn't ship unreviewed
Symbol assignment is a separate, optional step with its own review and sign-off. Decline it and your base ScaffIQ scaffold is completely unaffected.
The other engine
ScaffIQ Sequence Engine
Compiles real, reviewable ControlLogix rung logic, state machines, interlocks and alarms, from the same confirmed I/O mapping. Deterministic, never AI-written.

User Specs & Requirements

What you need to run Perspective Engine.

Nothing to install. Perspective Engine runs entirely in the browser, as part of ScaffIQ.

Modern browser
A current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. JavaScript and cookies must be enabled, both are required for sign-in and for the compiler itself.
Reliable internet connection
25 Mbps or faster recommended. Symbol assignment and generation are live calls, there is no offline mode.
Ignition Designer, for opening the output
Perspective Engine produces a real symbol library and overview page for Ignition Perspective 8.3. Opening and wiring it up needs Ignition Designer itself.
A credit card with sufficient available funds
Perspective Engine is priced by device count and billed as an add-on to a ScaffIQ package that includes Sequence Engine. Held on file via Stripe, charged automatically.
A desktop or laptop screen
The symbol assignment review screens are built for a real screen. They are not optimised for a phone.
Qualified engineers only
Perspective Engine is built for qualified engineers (Controls, Process Control, Systems Integration, EI&C or Applications), not as a substitute for one. The Engineer of Record must review and authorise every generated output before it reaches a live system, accepting full professional responsibility for the result.
